Paul Coughlin shone with bat and ball as he helped Hetton Lyons to victory over felling by four wickets. Coughlin’s figures of 3/59 in 14 overs assisted the hosts in bowling out Felling for 189. He then scored 61 from 59 balls with eight fours and one maximum as he led the Lyons to a four-wicket win.
Scott Borthwick took four wickets as Hartlepool completed a dominant 10-wicket win over Saltburn at Park Drive. Borthwick took four of the opening five wickets and finished with figures of 4/33 as the hosts bowled out Saltburn for just 87, before the Pools chased down their target inside 15 overs.
Daniel Hogg was in the wickets for Newcastle in their draw with Chester le Street at Jesmond. Batting first, the hosts finished on 197 for nine from 58 overs. Hogg struck early with a pair of wickets in an eight over spell, claiming figures of 2/19 as they restricted the visitors to 176/8 from 52 overs.
Stanley McAlindon and Faizan Ghumman both scored half-centuries for Tynemouth in their eight-wicket victory at Ashington. After the hosts declared on 220 for eight, Ghumman and McAlindon put on 82 for the second wicket together. Ghumman made 55 before McAlindon took Tynemouth to victory by eight wickets alongside Matthew Brown with an unbeaten 74.
