League Roundup: Luke Symington scores 127 for Hartlepool; four wickets apiece for Shafiqullah Ghafari and George Drissell

Luke Symington scored 127 for Hartlepool in their 109-run victory over Darlington RA at Park Drive. Symington’s 127 came from 113 balls with 17 fours and five sixes helping the hosts pile on 319 in 48 overs. After adding 30 with the bat, Scott Borthwick claimed figures of 3/44 with the ball helping to bowl Darlington RA for 210.

George Drissell was in the wickets for South Northumberland, picking up 4/20 in their comfortable win at Easington Lane. Drissell led the way, bowling three maidens in 10 overs and striking four times as Hetton Lyone were dismissed for 123. Drissell then saw South North over the line as they secured an eight-wicket victory.

There were also four wickets for Shafiqullah Ghafari in their seven-wicket victory over Stockton at Hurgill Road. Ghafari grabbed four wickets with figures of 4/41 as the visiting side mustered 144 all out inside 42 overs before Richmond knocked it off in the 34th over.

Haydon Mustard made 42 as Shotley Bridge drew with Seaham Harbour in a hard-fought affair at New Drive. Mustard hit nine fours in his 47-ball knock as the Bridge declared on 256/8 from their 58 overs. The Harbour passed 200 with five wickets in hand but a late flurry of wickets saw them finish on 230/9 after 52 overs to secure a draw.

Jim Twiddy picked up 3/46 for Felling in their defeat to Ashington. Bowling first, Twiddy claimed a trio of late wickets as the visitors made 212 at High Heworth Lane. The hosts were then all out for 110 as Ashington wrapped up victory within 35 overs.
