It was a wet weekend of North East Premier League and North Yorkshire South Durham League cricket with matches across the region being affected by the weather.

Scott Borthwick top scored with 89 not out as he helped Hartlepool to a comprehensive NYSD win over Great Ayton at Leven Park. Great Ayton won the toss and asked Hartlepool to bat as Borthwick led the way with 89 from 83 balls with 8 fours and five sixes. Borthwick’s 89 was supported by 84 from Kyle Davis while Wilf la Fontaine-Jackson added 23. In reply Great Ayton closed on 49/7 as Hartlepool won by 193 runs.
67 from James Minto wasn’t enough as Norton slipped to a 25 run defeat against Marton. Marton batted first and scored a huge 321/8 from 50 overs, Minto picking up 3/66 from 9 overs. In reply Minto top scored with his 65 in 67 balls with 1 four and 2 sixes but the home side were bowled out for 205 in 27.2 overs
Paul Coughlin picked up two wickets for Hetton Lyons dismissing both Burnopfield openers, Harry Crawshaw and Matthew Oswell. Coughlin claimed 2/17 as Burnopfield were 84/2 before the rain abandoned the game after 26 overs.
Daniel Hogg continued his return to bowling with 2/32 from 11 overs against South Northumberland at Gosforth. Hogg dismissed South North opener Sam Ewart for 16 and Chris Hewison for 6 as South Northumberland were reduced to 74/6. The rain then came and the match was abandoned with Newcastle in control.
