Grassroots Cricket Awards: Nominations Closing Date Extended

Durham Cricket are extending the deadline for nominations into four categories of this year’s Grassroots Cricket Awards.

Nominations for “Connecting Communities”, “Cricket Innovators”, “SafeHands Award” and “Tackling Climate Change” will be accepted until Sunday, 7th August.

Categories

Connecting Communities – A club or community organisation which has gone above and beyond the call of cricket to support communities/groups coming back to the game we

Cricket Innovators – Someone who has brought new ideas and/or implemented new systems to improve your club or community

SafeHands Award – An individual that has gone above and beyond to create a positive environment for young people to enjoy the game

Tackling Climate Change – A club or community organisation that is addressing the threat climate change poses to cricket, by making sustainable changes to operations, adapting their facilities and/or engaging their local community

The Awards

The awards are held to recognise the hard work thousands of volunteers across Durham put into the recreational game each season.

This year, shortlisted nominees in each category will be invited to Seat Unique Riverside on Wednesday, 17th August when Durham take on Sussex Sharks.

The event will be part of a wider initiative, incorporating a Volunteer Recognition Day during the fixture.

As a thank you, everyone who submits a nomination will also be invited to watch the Royal London One-Day Cup game on Wednesday, 17th August at a hospitality box at the Seat Unique Riverside.
