Ghafari claims 5/31 for Richmondshire; Charlie Harmison impresses with bat and ball: League Roundup

Shafiqullah Ghafari claimed a five-wicket haul in Richmondshire’s 66-run victory over Darlington RA at Brinkburn Road. Batting first, Richmond were bowled out for 176 with Colin Ackermann picking up figures of 3/40 while Ghafari added 26 with the bat.

Ghafari then took standout figures of 5/31 in 14 overs as he fired his side to victory.

Charlie Harmison starred with bat and ball in Ashington’s one-wicket defeat to Hetton Lyons. Harmison top scored with 42 from 49 featuring four fours and two maximums as the hosts were dismissed for 161.

The Academy seamer then led the way with the ball for Ashington with figures of 4/28 in his 10-over spell.

George Drissell and Will Alexander were in the wickets for South Northumberland as they beat Seaham Harbour by nine wickets. Alexander took 3/22 in six overs while Drissell took a pair of wickets before adding an unbeaten 31 to see the hosts over the line at Roseworth Terrace.

Luke Symington scored 33 in Hartlepool’s three-wicket defeat to Bishop Auckland. Opening the batting, Symington’s knock came from 47 balls with four boundaries as the visitors were 158 all out at Kingsway before the hosts saw off their target in the 46th over.
