Daniel Hogg scores a century for Newcastle in their abandoned fixture against Ashington at Jesmond. Batting at seven, Hogg arrived to the crease at 87/5 and smashed 100 from just 63 balls with eight fours and six maximums as the hosts made 280/7 from 44.4 overs.
Hogg then struck twice with the ball, taking 2/10 in five overs before rain ruled out and prospect of further play with Ashington 37/3.
Scott Borthwick and Luke Symington were in the runs as Hartlepool defeated Norton by 166 runs at Station Road. Borthwick made 50 from 35 with 10 boundaries in a 104-run opening stand before Wilf La Fontaine-Jackson made 69 as the visitors declared on 263/3 in 40 overs.
Symington top scored with 39 from 42 in response, hitting four fours and two sixes as he provided the only resistance for Norton with the hosts being bowled out for 97 with Borthwick claiming 4/11 and five maiden from his nine overs.
Shafiqullah Ghafari claimed a pair of wickets for Richmondshire in their six-wicket win over Darlington RA. The leg-spinner took 2/36 in 12 overs as the hosts were all out for 127 at Brinkburn Road, with Richmondshire chasing their target inside 26 overs.
Paul Coughlin was in action for Hetton Lyons in their 101-run victory over Chester-le-Street. Coughlin made 61 from 32 balls at Ropery Lane as the visitors racked up 306/6 inside 40 overs. Coughlin then struck three times with the ball as the hosts were dismissed for 205.
