Emilio Gay made 53 in Seaham Park’s 43-run defeat to Newcastle City. The visitors put on 206 at Byron Terrace. Gay helped Seaham Park get off to a strong start as he made 53 from 42 balls featuring nine boundaries before the hosts collapsed, being bowled out for 163.
Scott Borthwick claimed 6/60 and scored 63 in a tight victory for Hartlepool in the North Yorkshire South Durham League. Borthwick led the way with a six-for with the ball in 15 overs as Middlesbrough made 223/9 at Acklam Park. Borthwick hit 11 boundaries in his 68-ball 63 as the visitors made it to their target of 224 in the 43rd over.
Robbie Bowman made 71 in a dramatic draw with Chester le Street at Preston Avenue. Bowman scored seven fours as he put on 149 with centurion Matthew Brown as the hosts declared on 259/8. Stanley McAlindon claimed a pair of wickets as the visitors ended up just seven runs short of their target, scoring 254/78 in their 53 overs.
George Drissell shone with bat and ball as South Northumberland beat Sunderland by 85 runs. Drissell made 63 from 69 with six fours and two maximums as the Bulls made their way to 246/5 declared at Roseworth Terrace. Drissell then claimed 3/31 as the hosts dismissed Sunderland for 161.
