Daniel Hogg took four wickets for Newcastle in their dominant victory over Sunderland. After racking up 295/4 and declaring in 44 overs, Newcastle ran through Sunderland’s batting lineup at Ashbrooke Sports Club as the hosts only managed to put 107 on the board. Hogg played a leading role as he claimed 4/26 in eight overs in a 188-run victory for the visitors.
Mitchell Killeen impressed with bat and ball for Burnmoor, backing up his two wickets with a half-century in their five wicket win over Shotley Bridge. Killeen claimed 2/33 as the Bridge collapsed from 133/4 to 165 all out before scoring 50 from 82 balls including eight boundaries as Burnmoor successfully chased 166 inside 40 overs to extend their lead to 54 points in the North East Premier League.
Luke Symington top scored with 36 for Norton in their 156-run defeat to Great Ayton at Leven Park. The hosts declared on 303/4 in 49 overs with Teddy Minto taking two wickets. Norton made a solid start to their chase, making it to 95 for two with Symington striking four fours and two sixes in his 45-ball innings of 36 but soon dropped off, being bowled out for 147.
