Mitchell Killeen scored 58 in Burnmoor’s dominant 145-run victory over Sunderland. The visitors won the toss at Ashbrooke Sports Club and chose to bat, piling on 311/5 in just 38 overs. Killeen struck 58 from 45 balls with 10 boundaries with Ryan Pringle smashing 93 from 40 alongside. The hosts were then dismissed for 166, despite batting almost 67 overs.
Academy all-rounder Luke Symington made a half-century as Norton lost out to Hartlepool by eight wickets at Park Drive. Symington scored 50 from 54 featuring seven fours and one maximum as he helped the visitors to 88/1 before wickets began to fall regularly as Norton were all out for 182 with Hartlepool chasing their target down for the loss of just two wickets.
Academy bowler Charlie Harmison took a trio of wickets for Ashington in their three wicket win over Newcastle. Harmison took three of the opening four wickets for the hosts and ended a partnership of 107 as he closed with figures of 3/48 from 12 overs. Ashington chased down Newcastle’s 230/7 inside 52 overs with three wickets in hand.
Academy bowling all-rounder Will Alexander claimed a pair of scalps in South Northumberland’s abandoned game with Tynemouth. Stanley McAlindon opened the batting at Roseworth Terrace and made 27 as Tynemouth were dismissed for 174 in 46.4 overs with Alexander taking figures of 2/59. The hosts made 30 from the opening 7.2 overs before rain denied any further play.
