The Government is providing additional funding through the coronavirus crisis for local authorities to support small businesses that already pay little or no business rates because of small business rate relief (SBRR), rural rate relief (RRR) and tapered relief.
The fund provides a one-off grant of £10,000 to eligible businesses to help meet their ongoing business costs and cricket clubs may largely qualify.
The scheme is available to cricket clubs as long as they have a rateable number from their Local Authority.
Some local councils may get in touch with eligible businesses but others are running an application process and we urge cricket clubs to check their eligibility and the process their local authority has adopted.
