Alan Walker
A club stalwart as a player and a coach, Alan Walker has been part of the Durham furniture for over 30 years.
He first came to the North East in 1994 and made a significant impact, chalking up figures of 14/177 against Essex at the County Ground, Chelmsford.
The figures remained a club record until 2014, though he was the first to congratulate Chris Rushworth for beating his record against Northamptonshire.
The Yorkshireman took up the Men’s Assistant Coach role ahead of the 2019 season, working with the 1XI and 2XI squads.
He led Durham to the 2021 Final of the Royal London Cup, having been appointed Head Coach during the 50-over competition, acting as cover for former coach James Franklin.
Walker took on the role as Durham went all the way to the final, losing just one group game throughout the tournament and eventually in the final to Glamorgan.
