ECB Core Coach (1st4sport Level 2)

The ECB Core Coach programme is an entry level qualification for coaching cricket in England and Wales alongside ECB Foundation Coach. This programme is one part of a wider strategic response to needing more coaches on the ground able to inspire and develop players.

With its launch, the ECB Core Coach replaced the ECB Certificate in Coaching Children’s Cricket and ECB Certificate in Coaching Young People and Adults’ Cricket provision.

Programme outcomes

This programme has been designed to give learners the knowledge, skills and confidence to lead player-centred coaching sessions.

An ECB Core Coach will be qualified to lead coaching sessions independently and without supervision.

Alongside the ECB Foundation Coach, this will be the entry level qualification required to coach cricket.

Who should attend?

Anyone aged 17 and over wishing to become qualified to coach cricket, inspire and develop players and make a difference to the game.

Commitment

• £300.00
• 8 face-to-face modules lasting 3 hours each including 2 observed coaching opportunities
• 6 bitesize e-learning modules lasting 15-20 minutes each
• Multiple choice question assessment

Pre-requisites for certification

• Valid safeguarding training e.g. Safeguarding Young Cricketers
• Valid ECB DBS
• Be at least 18 years of age
