Durham Cricket Foundation is celebrating the fantastic achievement of its team of 11 runners who successfully completed the AJ Bell Great North Run on Sunday 7 September 2025, while raising an outstanding £4,654.09 in support of the charity’s Great North Children’s Hospital project.
The amount raised will go towards delivering the Foundation’s weekly sports and educational sessions for children and young people undergoing long-term treatment at the hospital.
Graeme Weeks, CEO of the Durham Cricket Foundation, said: “We are so proud of our runners and grateful to everyone who supported them. Their dedication and determination inspired us all and knowing they chose to take on this challenge for our Foundation means so much.
“We’re also thankful to everyone who cheered them on and donated. Every pound raised will make a real difference to the children and families we support and will help us continue to run this project.
“The Great North Run this weekend was fantastic and for me, it was brilliant to see our community come together to back our work and our charity.”
The runners who took part are James Coxon, Marsha Davies, Adam Fuller, Rachele Hayter, Carl Kelly, James Paley, Chris Ralston, Craig Symington, Megan Turnock, Chris Borrowdale and Olly Spark.
