Durham Cricket Foundation is celebrating the success of its first-ever Golf Day, held at Ramside Hall’s Prince Bishops Course, which brought together local businesses and community organisations for a day of sport and networking in aid of the Foundation’s work across the region.
The event was made possible thanks to the generous support of headline sponsor Everyone Active, whose contribution helped launch this milestone occasion. In addition to sponsoring the day, Everyone Active entered two teams and donated prizes.
A long-standing partner to the Foundation, Everyone Active extended their support to the Golf Day, having supported Durham Cricket’s charity to run their Family Zone at Banks Homes Riverside for a number of years.
The golf day received fantastic support from hole sponsors including MKM, Total Play, BG Flooring, EMG, Toyota, Vertu Mini and Durham Pumps, ensuring a busy and exciting course for players.
Graeme Weeks, Chief Executive Officer at Durham Cricket Foundation said “We are really thrilled with the success of our first Golf Day. It was fantastic to see so many businesses and organisations come together in support of the Foundation. Our aspiration is to create one of the best charity golf days in the region so we made sure the course was exciting and different, with competitions, challenges and even an option to tee off to your favourite song on the first tee. This is all part of making this a brilliant experience and I am so proud and glad to see many of the players enjoy the day as much as they did.
“We are incredibly grateful to our headline sponsor Everyone Active, along with our hole sponsors and all 18 teams that took part to make this a brilliant day. Their generosity and commitment directly support our work in the community.
“We’re dedicated to ensuring recreational cricket in the region thrives and to running programmes that meet the real needs of people in our communities. This support means we can reach thousands more people across Durham and the wider North East through the power of cricket and beyond.”
Eighteen teams enjoyed a day full of golf, helping raise valuable funds to support Durham Cricket Foundation’s programmes. Teams included: two teams from Everyone Active, MKM, NE Youth Alliance, BG Flooring, Wisemove, Durham Youth Trust, GF International Solutions, KYK Ltd, Ramside, Midea UK, Ward Hadaway, Durham Pumps, Newcastle Foundation, Smooth Radio, MRP Surveyors, Hetton Lyons Cricket Club and Sacriston Cricket Club.
The Golf Day marks a milestone fundraising event for the Foundation as the charitable heart of the club. Rooted in the belief that cricket has the power to change lives, the Foundation delivers programmes that inspire the next generation, break down barriers to participation, and take the game far beyond the boundary.
Durham Cricket Foundation would like to extend sincere thanks to all sponsors and team for making this first Golf Day such a success.
Plans are already underway to build on this year’s achievements in 2026 with the next Golf Day pencilled in for 21 August 2026 at Ramside Hall’s Prince Bishops Course.
