Durham Women to stage three regional roadshows in the build-up to the 2025 season

Durham Women are visiting areas of the North East in the build-up to the club’s first professional women’s season.

Members of the women’s squad will embark on roadshows across the region, ahead of the season opener against Essex on April 23rd in the Metro Bank One Day Cup.

The club have invited local schools to the roadshows, allowing young children of the North East to explore popular landmarks alongside meeting professional cricketers.

The kids of Shiney Row School were invited to the first of three roadshows, held at Penshaw Monument, with six Durham squad members sharing an enjoyable afternoon.

Two further roadshows will be held at Tynemouth Beach (April 8) and Beamish Museum (April 15) ahead of Durham Women’s inaugural season as a professional team.

Marketing Director David Jackson said: “We are delighted to be visiting areas of the region and welcoming local schools in the build-up to the beginning of the season.

It is an extremely exciting time for the North East and we continue to look forward to our season starting on April 23rd against Essex at Banks Homes Riverside.”

Durham Cricket have also launched the Women’s Cricket Network, aiming to build a community of followers in women’s cricket.

Being part of the Network will give you insights from the women’s professional players, access to bespoke events and unique benefits like discounted group tickets to Tier 1 matches.

Tickets are available to purchase for Durham Women’s fixtures throughout the season.
