Durham Cricket set for take-off with Teesside International Airport extension

Durham Cricket can announce the Club have extended its partnership with Teesside International Airport.

The two-year contract extension will see Teesside International Airport branding displayed around the ground, including on the members lounge balcony and on the Paul Collingwood Pavilion.

The agreement will see the two organisations work alongside each other, with Durham Cricket branding being displayed at Teesside International Airport.

A great 12 months for the airport, has seen then named UK and Irish Airport of the Year at the TTG Travel Industry Awards after winning recognition for its growth in flights and passenger experience.

The airport was also the first airport in the UK to scrap the 100ml liquid restrictions at security thanks to its scanner upgrades – making it even more efficient and easy to catch a flight.

The changes come hot on the heels of the airport upgrading its departures lounge, signing a long-term deal with World Duty Free, and unveiling a new route for 2024.

This summer sees Holidaymakers able to bag a great trip to Alicante, Bulgaria, Corfu, Faro, Majorca and, back this year, the popular Turkish destination of Dalaman.

Phil Forster, Managing Director of Teesside Airport, said: “We’re proud of our ongoing partnership with Durham Cricket. Just like Durham on the field, we had a great 2023 and summer 2024 has the potential to be another special one.

“We’ve transformed our terminal building to make it even more efficient and accessible to all – and our doors are wide open to welcome passengers from across the Tees Valley, County Durham and wider North East.

“With our worldwide connections from Amsterdam through KLM, and our popular holiday flights with TUI and Ryanair, we’re seeing more people choose us, and I’m excited to see Dalaman back on our departure boards in May.”

Tom Seymour, Sales Director at Durham Cricket added: “Teesside International Airport is now one of the region’s key assets and we are delighted to have extended the deal for another two-years.

“Teesside Airport and its brand are recognised throughout the region and with new flight routes being added on a regular basis, including flights to six countries across Europe this summer, it is an exciting time to be working with them over the next few years.”
