Durham Cricket and Durham University renew partnership to drive sport and learning in North East England
Durham Cricket and Durham University are renewing their partnership, creating benefits for sport and learning in North East England.
The renewed collaboration between two of the region’s leading institutions will run until the end of the 2029 season, bringing together high-performance sport and education.
Durham Cricket will provide Durham University students with workshops delivered by cricketing professionals, and guest speaker sessions on campus.

“We will explore opportunities for Durham University students on and off the cricket field which will enrich their education through work-related learning and shared knowledge and facilities.

Durham University has a long history of cricketing success. The University’s alumni include former England men’s captains Sir Andrew Strauss OBE and Nasser Hussain OBE, current Pakistan men’s captain Shan Masood Khan, and former England women’s international Holly Colvin.
The University’s men’s and women’s teams regularly compete at the top of the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) championships.
