The Durham Cricket Foundation is proud to announce the launch of its Volunteering Programme for the 2026 season and beyond, inviting members of the community to play an active role in supporting the Foundation’s growing impact across the region.
As the Foundation continues to expand its delivery of cricket-based community programmes, events and inclusive initiatives, volunteers remain at the heart of its success.
As part of the programme, members of the community will also be able to apply to be matchday activators too, playing a vital role in the T20 experience that Banks Homes Riverside offers this summer.
“We simply couldn’t deliver the breadth of our work without the dedication and support of our volunteers,” Graeme Weeks, Durham Cricket Foundation Chief Executive Officer said. “This program is about creating opportunities for people to get involved, build skills, and be part of something meaningful within their community.”
The volunteering programme will support a wide range of initiatives delivered by the Foundation, including grassroots cricket development, community outreach projects and inclusive participation programmes designed to engage people of all ages and backgrounds.
Volunteers will have the opportunity to support as :
- Matchday Activators
- Event Volunteers
- Volunteer Coach
In recognition of their time and contribution, volunteers will receive:
- Complimentary tea, coffee and refreshments during T20 games
- Official volunteer lanyard and badge
- Durham Cricket Foundation t-shirt and hoodie
- Ongoing support from Foundation staff
- Volunteer references to support personal and professional development
The Durham Cricket Foundation is now welcoming expressions of interest from individuals aged 18+ who are passionate about community work, sport and making a positive difference.
Whether you’re looking to gain experience, meet like-minded people, or give back to your local area, this programme offers a flexible and rewarding way to get involved.
