Durham Cricket are set to launch the 2025 Vitality Blast season with a fixture unlike any other – a historic double-header on Sunday 1 June, featuring both Durham Women and Durham Men in back-to-back action for the very first time at Banks Homes Riverside.
More than just a matchday, this is a celebration of progress, passion, and people, with a packed programme of activities, entertainment, and community spirit for fans of all ages to enjoy. It’s the ultimate way to kickstart the summer.
Durham Cricket are proud to announce that its 2025 Vitality T20 Blast season will begin in partnership with The Chloe and Liam Together Forever Trust, a charity created in memory of Chloe Rutherford and Liam Curry, who tragically lost their lives in the 2017 Manchester Arena attack.
On Sunday, 1 June, Durham’s men’s and women’s teams will both face Lancashire in what will be the club’s first-ever T20 double-header, marking a significant and emotional opening to the season. The day will be dedicated to celebrating the lives and legacy of Chloe and Liam and supporting the incredible work of the charity established in their names.
The Chloe and Liam Together Forever Trust, founded eight years ago by their families, helps young people across the North East reach their potential in performance and sport, through bursaries and support for grassroots organisations. Chloe was a talented performer, and Liam a passionate cricketer—both were supporters of Durham Cricket, making the partnership deeply personal and meaningful to the club.
To honour their memory, there will be special performances on the pitch and in the Fan Zone, while representatives from the Trust will be available on-site to speak with supporters, share the charity’s mission, and encourage donations or involvement.

The day promises to be a family-fun filled celebration of community, resilience, and sport, featuring the Everyone Active Family Fun Zone and the Heineken Fan Zone with live music, entertainment, and food and drink on offer throughout the day.
