Three batsmen are in contention after enjoying a successful Royal London One-Day Cup during April, with a returning all-rounder also impressing & subsequently up for the award.

Cameron Bancroft
The skipper started his white ball career at Durham in style, smashing two unbeaten centuries in the first two Royal London One-Day Cup North Group fixtures.
The 26-year-old announced himself in style, smashing 151 not out against Northants Steelbacks, & then made 118 not out against Leicestershire Foxes, meaning he did not even have an average after two matches.
Bancroft finished with 359 runs in six One-Day Cup games during the month at an average of 89.75, putting him among the best players in the tournament.
Alex Lees
After a promising start to the season with the red ball, Alex Lees came into his own during the Royal London One-Day Cup.
Lees finished the month with no fewer than four consecutive half-centuries, converting the last into his maiden Durham century, against Lancashire at South North CC. They added to his 50 in the Specsavers County Championship match at Derbyshire.
The left-hander finished the month with 310 One-Day Cup runs at an average of 77.5.
Michael Richardson
The Royal London One-Day Cup has been Michael Richardson’s standout competition in recent years & he impressed again in this year’s tournament.
Richardson hit a sensational ton in a record fourth-wicket partnership with Cameron Bancroft in the opening win against Northants Steelbacks & backed it up with 72 not out to lead the chase against Derbyshire Falcons.
The right-hander chalked up 215 white ball runs at an average of 71.67.
Matthew Potts
Returning from a long injury lay-off, Matthew Potts made a big impression on his first five appearances back in the side.
His best figures came on his first match of the season, 4/62 to see out the victory over Northants Steelbacks, & followed up with a three-fer against Leicestershire Foxes.
Three more wickets followed, one of which came in a wicket-maiden at a pivotal juncture during the 46th over of the match against Lancashire.
