The International T20 between England and West Indies is taking place at Banks Homes Riverside, Chester-le-Street, DH3 3QR on Friday 6th June.
The following information will assist you with planning your journey well in advance and choosing the most appropriate way for you to access the ground.
Please allow enough time for your journey and get there early as the site will get extremely busy in the run up to the game.
WAYS TO GET TO THE GROUND AND TRANSPORT OPTIONS
WALKING
There is a signposted pedestrian route from Chester-le-Street town centre and railway station (one mile away), which takes approximately 20 minutes.
CYCLING
Dedicated cycle racks are available free of charge at the ground. Stewards at the gate will direct any cyclists wishing to use these on the day.
GETTING HERE BY BUS
Go North East run a number of dedicated services that run through Chester-le-Street, with some stopping outside the ground. These services run through a number of the surrounding areas including Durham, Newcastle and Sunderland. To plan your route & see bus times, visit the Go North East website on www.gonortheast.co.uk.
GETTING HERE BY TRAIN
Normal train services will run in and out of Chester-le-Street station on the day of the IT20. This is restricted to Northern, Transpennine Express and Cross Country services. For times, please visit the National Rail website at www.nationalrail.co.uk. The walk from the station to the Banks Homes Riverside is approximately one mile and the route is well signposted.
Additionally, a shuttle bus service will be in operation from Durham Station from 3.30pm with a regular service to the ground. The service is £5 per person return.

GETTING HERE BY CAR – PARKING ON SITE
The only way of securing a car parking space at the ground is to purchase a parking permit in advance. Pre-paid permits are limited and are sold on a first come, first served basis. They are available for £20 from the Box Office on 0191 387 1717 or online HERE.
Access to the car parks is available from 3.30pm and will be controlled by stewards – please follow their instructions. Please note that car parks are filled in sequence to assist with the flow of traffic.
At the end of the game, a traffic management plan is in place with diversions that must be followed. Please follow the direction of the traffic management personnel on duty.
PARKING IN OTHER AREAS IN CHESTER-LE-STREET
There are a number of other car parks in Chester-le-Street that could be used by spectators. NOTE – these are not managed by Durham Cricket and if used spectators should check the local arrangements.

PARK & RIDE
Durham Cricket is operating two Park & Ride service for the game, located as follows:
1. Rainton Meadows Arena – DH4 5PH
2. Belmont Park and Ride site – DH1 1LU

The sites will be well signposted from major routes around Chester-le-Street.
The Park & Ride car parks will open at 3.00pm and buses will run at regular intervals to the Banks Homes Riverside from 3.30pm until 7.00pm. Return services will resume 30 minutes before the end of the game.
There is no cost to park at the Park & Ride site. However, there is a charge of £5 per person for the return bus journey, payable on the day when entering the bus.
A NUMBER OF TRAVEL OPTIONS ARE PROVIDED BY SPECTATORS AND WE WOULD ASK SPECTATORS TO CHOOSE THE MOST APPROPRIATE ONE FOR THEMSELVES. WE WOULD ALSO INSIST THAT SPECTATORS PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN RESIDENT AREAS AROUND THE GROUND – RESIDENTS ONLY SIGNS ARE IN FORCE AND THE AREAS WILL BE MONITORED.
