Phoebe Turner extends through to 2027

Durham Cricket are excited to announce that Phoebe Turner has signed a contract extension.

Bowling all-rounder Turner has extended her stay with the Club until at least the end of the 2027 season, having enjoyed a productive opening season in Chester-le-Street.

The 22-year-old finished with the second most wickets in the 2025 One Day Cup, claiming 22 poles to earn a maiden England A call-up alongside franchise deals with Southern Brave and London Spirit at The Hundred.

Turner went on to shine for England A claiming five wickets in two appearances in their 50-over series against New Zealand A in Derby and remains part of the Three Lions setup, having been named in England’s 2025/26 winter Performance Programme.

The Northallerton-born cricketer made a dream start to the 2025 season taking 4/33, her best Durham List A figures, in Durham’s opener against Essex before claiming T20 career best figures of 3/17 against Hampshire Hawks in the Vitality Blast.

On extending her deal with Durham, Phoebe Turner said: “I’m really excited, I think for me this is the place I want to play at and I’ve really thrived in this environment. The coaches have been amazing and the girls have been great too.

“All we want to do is bring some silverware up to the North East. I’ve absolutely loved it here and can’t wait to get going in the 2026 season.

“We’ve got quite an experienced team and hopefully this season with a year under our belt we can go out there and show the North East what we can do.

“The environment here is amazing, I speak very highly of Durham away from here as well. I absolutely love playing at Chester-le-Street and calling this ground my home ground is a really cool feeling.”

Marcus North, Director of Cricket added: “It’s fantastic news that Phoebe has committed to Durham Cricket for at least another two years.

“Phoebe is an exceptionally talented cricketer and has earned this contract extension after another strong season in the domestic game.

“She is a player with immense potential, something that has already been recognised through her selection for England A and her inclusion in the England performance programme this winter.

Phoebe has fully bought into what we are building at Durham Cricket, and her passion for the Club both on and off the field is clear to see.

“We’re excited to continue supporting her development over the coming seasons and look forward to seeing her deliver more strong performances for Durham.”
