Neil Killeen appointed England’s pace bowling coach for Netherlands ODI series

Durham Cricket are pleased to announce that Neil Killeen will form part of Matthew Mott’s coaching staff for England Men’s ODI tour of the Netherlands.

Killeen, Assistant Lead High Performance and bowling coach at Durham Cricket will be England’s pace bowling coach for the ODI series which gets underway on Friday 17 June.

The 46-year-old returns to the England coaching set up having previously worked with England ODI squad, England Lions and England under-19s and provides further opportunity for Killeen to work within the international game.

Killeen has played a key role in the development of Durham seamers including Brydon Carse, Matthew Potts and Paul Coughlin, with Carse included in the England squad for this month’s three match series.

On the appointment, Killeen said: “I am really looking forward to joining up with England’s white ball squad for the ODI series, it’s a great opportunity to work with new head coach Matthew Mott and captain Eoin Morgan alongside an exciting new squad.

“Hopefully the knowledge and experiences I gain can be brought back and assist in benefiting Durham ahead of our last few T20 games and into the Royal London campaign.”

Mark Alleyne an ECB Test scout and Assistant Director of Sport at Marlborough College, will be Batting Coach working alongside Killeen.

The pair will work with Richard Dawson and Carl Hopkinson, who make up the rest of Mott’s coaching staff.

The travelling party leave for the Netherlands on Tuesday June 14, with the first ODI taking place on Friday June 17.
