Durham Women take two points back from abandoned clash with Warwickshire at Portland Road

The frustration was deep for Durham and Warwickshire as their Women’s Metro Bank One-Day Cup clash was washed out in Birmingham.
With Durham looking for full points to boost their chances of qualifying for the knockout phase, they were hoping the forecast heavy showers would miss the Edgbaston Community Sports Ground. Sadly, they didn’t.
An early lunch was called to enable the ground to dry from earlier rain, but during the interval, torrential rain set back in to make an early call-off inevitable.
Durham will hope for better luck with the weather when they welcome Hampshire to Chester-le-Street on Sunday.
