Final day wickets for Luke Robinson and Sam Conners as Durham Second XI draw with Middlesex Second XI at Hartlepool.
Resuming day two on 214 for eight, Durham added 42 runs before declaring with one wicket remaining. Wilf La Fontaine-Jackson made 21 not out whilst George Drissell was dismissed for 20.

With Middlesex resuming on 215 for no loss, Luke Robinson struck within three overs of the start of day two finding Nathan Fernandes’ outside edge on 54.
Robinson soon had another and by the time Daniel Hogg picked up a pair of wickets the visitors were 261 for four, with Josh de Caires departing for 175 from 187 balls.
The hosts claimed four further wickets either side of lunch with the London-based side declaring on 356/8 as George Drissell and Shafiqullah Ghafari taking two scalps each.
Ben McKinney and Emilio Gay raced out of the blocks for Alan Walker’s side, sharing an opening stand of 59 in just seven overs with McKinney scoring 39 from 25 balls with seven fours and one six.
Middlesex fought back removing both openers in back-to-back overs before a partnership of 48 between Scott Borthwick (31) and Faizan Ghumman stabled things for the hosts.
Ghumman top scored for Durham on day two with 41 as he shared a 64-run partnership with Robbie Bowman (33) before both were out in two straight overs, with Mitchell Killeen leaving the crease two overs later.
Ghafari and Sam Conners also soon departed as Ishaan Kaushal caused trouble picking up four wickets for the visitors while Fernandes took his second to leave Durham eight down for 188.
Drissell and Hogg managed to see the Ds to the close for no further loss, adding a further 26 and avoiding the follow-on but still trailing Middlesex by 142 runs at the game’s halfway stage.

After winning the toss and inserting the visitors Durham were unable to make a breakthrough in the morning session with the overs being shared around.
Josh de Caires raced to a 95-ball century before the lunch break as his side reached 150 without loss inside the opening 30 overs.
The opening stand between de Caires and Nathan Fernandes stretched to 215 before the rain hit with Fernandes reaching his half-century from 109 balls shortly before de Caires went to his 150 after 135 deliveries.
The players left the field immediately after and were unable to return on day one, with Middlesex closing on 215 without loss after 41.2 overs.
