Emily Windsor and Harriet Robson scored half-centuries as Durham enjoyed a comprehensive victory over Durham University as preparations ramp up ahead of the Vitality Blast.

After being put into the field first at the Racecourse Ground, the University side picked up an early breakthrough via Charlotte Stubbs with Mady Villiers departing early.

Harriet Robson continued her strong start alongside Emily Windsor as the pair shared 82 for the second wicket.

Robson top scored for Durham with 59 from 37 balls featuring six boundaries before retiring out with Durham 113/1 after 13 overs.

Windsor reached 52 but also chose to return to the pavilion after striking a pair of boundaries in her 42-ball knock.

Bess Heath hit two maximum in her innings of 27 before Lee and Pitts claimed two wickets apiece for the hosts to restrict Dani Hazell’s side to 166/7.

Villiers struck early in the second innings as the hosts struggled to put runs on the board.

Katie Levick and Sophia Turner then claimed wickets in back-to-back overs as the hosts fell to 34/3.

Katherine Fraser took wickets from consecutive balls with the University side on 53 while Turner claimed her second.

Durham claimed two run outs as the University side closed their innings on 95/8 with Charlotte Stubbs top scoring on 40 as Durham won by 68 runs.
