Ds Abroad: David Bedingham scores 91-ball century, five wickets for Luke Robinson & Ben McKinney continues fine form

With pre-season now underway many of the Durham squad are spending their winter in sunnier climates playing overseas. 

A regular feature on the Durham website throughout the winter will be recapping how the Durham players get on.

David Bedingham scored his 8th List A century for Western Province in their 15-run Duckworth-Lewis defeat to Lions. Bedingham led the visitors to 259/7 in 42 overs with his century coming from 91 balls as he made 103 from 93 in Johannesburg, striking 11 fours and three sixes.

Luke Robinson picked up a five-wicket haul in the opening day of Swan Valley’s two-day clash with Kalamunda. The visitors elected to bat first before Robinson dismissed both openers and then mopped up the tail to claim figures of 5/40 in 19.2 overs as Kalamunda were bowled out for 155. The hosts blitzed 137/2 from 18 overs in response.

South Australia Women returned to action with Hollie Armitage scoring 49 in their 26-run victory over ACT Meteors. Armitage’s knock came from 68 balls featuring a pair of fours and one maximum as the visitors made 280/8 batting first in Canberra before limiting the hosts to 254/8 in their 50 overs.

Ben McKinney continued his fine from for England Lions as he made 42 in the opening 50-over clash against Pakistan Shaheens. Matthew Potts claimed figures of 1/22 as the Lions dismissed the Shaheens for 152. McKinney struck 42 from 41 featuring five fours and two sixes as the Lions cruised to a nine-wicket win.

Sam Conners claimed a pair of wickets for Western Suburbs as 17-wickets fell in the first day of their two-day game with Hawkesbury. Batting first, Western Suburbs were bowled out for just 153 before reducing Hawkesbury to 70/7 with Conners taking figures 2/33.
