Graham Clark extends Durham contract

Durham Cricket are thrilled to announce that Graham Clark has signed a two-year contract extension.

Clark has signed fresh terms until at least the end of the 2027 season after another stellar season with the bat, scoring a first-class and career best of 160 against Hampshire earlier this campaign.

Clark has found his best form in red-ball cricket under Men’s Head Coach Ryan Campbell, with over 1,500 first-class runs and five centuries since the start of the 2023 season.

The Cumbrian found a new level of form this season, striking his maiden Division One century in Southampton as he scored back-to-back hundreds against Hampshire and Nottinghamshire in May.

A graduate of the Durham Cricket Academy, Clark has continued to be a standout player for Durham at the top of the innings in the white-ball game with 400 runs in this summer’s Vitality Blast and over 1,000 T20 runs since 2023, including his maiden T20 century against Northamptonshire Steelbacks.

Since making his debut during the 2015 season, the 32-year-old has gone on to make over 8,000 runs for the Club with 254 appearances in all three formats, featuring 11 centuries and 43 half-centuries.

Director of Cricket, Marcus North said: “This contract extension is testament to the fantastic couple of years Graham has had for Durham in all formats.

“His red ball cricket has shone through hugely in recent seasons, enabling Graham to establish a key role within our batting line up.

“The attacking style of cricket we have been playing has brought the best out of Graham, not only has he had a brilliant County Championship, he has continued to impress in white ball cricket which included some superb displays in our T20 Blast campaign.”

On extending, his Durham deal, Clark said: “I’m absolutely delighted to be committing my future to the club, I’ve been here since I joined the academy 16 years ago and I couldn’t imagine playing my cricket anywhere else.

“I feel like I’m now entering the best years of my career, and I hope I can contribute to success in both the red ball and white ball teams.

“Thank you to all the staff, members and fans for all the support I’ve had over the years, I really do appreciate it. I hope we can repay it with some silverware.”
