Durham Cricket are thrilled to announce that Harriet Robson has signed her first rookie contract with the Club.

A top-order batter from the Durham Cricket Academy, Harriet has put pen to paper on a deal lasting until at least the end of the 2026 campaign.

The 21-year-old follows Grace Thompson and Trudy Johnson in becoming Durham’s third female academy graduate having represented Durham Academy, the North East Warriors and the Northern Diamonds Academy in recent years.

Robson – who plays her club cricket at Shotley Bridge, is a product of the Northumberland and Durham pathways having played for the minor county at senior level since 2017.

The right-hander was part of the Durham squad that toured Zimbabwe during pre-season and impressed with back-to-back half-centuries against Warwickshire and Lancashire ahead of the 2025 season.

Captaining Durham Academy during 2025, Robson led by example with two hundreds and two half-centuries to top 500 runs at academy level last campaign.

On signing her first deal with Durham, Robson said: “I’m absolutely delighted to have signed my first professional contract with Durham.

“Becoming a professional cricketer is something I’ve dreamt and worked towards for a long time.

“I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity I’ve been given and look forward to joining the squad and preparing for the upcoming season.”

Director of Cricket, Marcus North said: “It’s extremely pleasing to see Harriet become the latest Durham Academy graduate to sign a professional contract with Durham Cricket.

“During our pre-season tour to Zimbabwe and throughout the 2025 season, Harriet has consistently demonstrated her talent and potential through impressive performances, earning this rookie contract.

“This now provides Harriet with a fantastic opportunity to continue developing her game and to take the next step in her professional cricket journey.”
