Hollie Armitage

Durham Cricket made its intentions clear ahead of the 2025 season by signing experienced batting all-rounder Hollie Armitage.

Armitage put pen to paper on a three-year deal with Durham Cricket and will make history by becoming the club’s first professional female captain.

With over 5000 all-format runs to her name, 27-year-old Armitage has reunited with Durham’s Head Coach Danielle Hazell – having played under her at Northern Diamonds and Northern Superchargers.

An experienced top-order batter and legspinner Armitage has represented England internationally and boasts a cricketing CV which has seen her represent Northern Diamonds, Sydney Sixers, Northern Superchargers, Central Districts and Yorkshire.

A proven leader on and off the field with Northern Diamonds and Northern Superchargers – Hollie led the Diamonds to Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy success in 2022, lifting the prestigious 50-over cup at Lord’s.

She also captained England A to a T20 series win over India A during the winter, smashing 52 off 41 balls in the opening clash at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.

Spending part of her winter playing cricket down under, Hollie scored 75 and 99 for South Australia before representing Sydney Sixers in the Women’s Big Bash League.

Durham Women’s captain also featured for Central Districts in New Zealand’s Super Smash, finishing as the side’s top run scorer with two half-centuries in seven matches.

Armitage then returned to South Australia, scoring her sixth List A century before joining England A for their all-format tour of Australia.
