Daniel Hogg

Daniel Hogg capped off a breakthrough 2024 season by putting pen to paper on his first professional deal, penning a contract until the end of the 2027 campaign.

Hogg went from strength to strength in 2024, making his First-Class and List A debuts and featuring in Durham’s T20 Blast quarter-final squad.

The 20-year-old played four first-class matches and claimed 12 red ball wickets for Durham in 2024 at an average of just 23, alongside one wicket in two List-A appearances.

A sensational seven-wicket haul from Hogg on his First-class debut propelled Durham to a dominant County Championship win against Nottinghamshire.

The Durham Academy seamer already had three second-innings wickets before the final day’s play and mopped up the Nott’s tail to wrap up the victory with a winning margin of an innings and 17 runs.

Hogg stepped up his game in the second innings with Durham one seamer down, and he sealed the win with a fantastic spell on day four, one which the young quick could have only dreamt of when he was handed his Durham cap.

He accounted for the wickets of Haseeb Hameed, Joe Clarke and Jack Haynes, amongst others, as the bowler claimed eight wickets on a magical debut.

Hogg made his senior Durham debut in the Metro Bank One Day Cup against Somerset at Seat Unique Riverside.

His maiden professional wicket came against Hampshire at South Northumberland as he dismissed Joseph Eckland for eight, assisted by a brilliant catch at backward point by a diving Ben McKinney.
