Callum Parkinson enjoyed a solid first campaign in the North East, ending with 50 wickets across all three formats.
The 28-year-old claimed his maiden County Championship wicket for Durham in a taxing draw against Warwickshire at Edgbaston, beating the defence of Alex Davies on 256. The spinner then made it two wickets in three balls when he produced a beauty to bowl Ed Barnard.
Parkinson took one five-wicket haul in his debut Durham campaign on his way to 30 County Championship wickets, coming in a draw against Essex at Seat Unique Riverside.
Feroze Khushi drove Parkinson straight to Graham Clark at shortish extra cover and departed for 107.
The 28-year-old bowled Jordan Cox when he played outside a ball that was deflected via the back pad to the leg stump, before soon collecting his second wicket of the morning when he clean bowled Matt Critchley with a fine ball that turned past the outside edge and hit off stump.
Parkinson then dismissed Harmer and Jamie Porter in the same over to finish with five for 131 from 31 overs.
The Bolton-born bowler featured in all 15 of Durham’s T20 Blast matches in the 2024 campaign, picking up 18 wickets at an average of 21.38.
His best efforts of 3/15 came against Nottinghamshire; Slater departed for 20 when Parkinson got him lbw. The left-arm spinner then had Tom Moores caught behind, and Jack Haynes was his third victim of the night, leaving the Outlaws with a mountain to climb at 53/4.
Parkinson made his Durham List-A debut in the final round of group fixtures in the 2024 Metro Bank One Day Cup after being released by Northern Superchargers.
He made his bow against Derbyshire and took impressive figures of 2/42 at Seat Unique Riverside in defence of 253. He took his first List A wicket for Durham, removing Harry Came for 45 before striking again, as David Lloyd departed for 63.
