Virtual Reality Treasurer Hunt

Arrived early to the Emirates Riverside ahead of the Vitality Blast and looking for something to do? Well you’re in luck!

With the success of the Liontrust Family Zone and post-game signing sessions, Durham Cricket are eager to improve the matchday experience for families yet further after winning the Business of Cricket Award for most improved family experience in 2018.

The Durham Cricket Treasure Hunt will keep you entertained as you wait, all you need to do is download the genARate app onto your smart phone to take part in the exciting journey.

There are several posters hidden around the Emirates Riverside that lead to a prize, download genARate and find the first poster. Once there, scan your phone over the squared number in the corner of the poster to unlock one of the Durham squad.

They’ll direct you to your next stop on the treasure hunt, another player will appear when you scan the genARate app over the squared number at the bottom of the post and so on.

As you make your way through the treasure hunt, you’ll get ever closer to the final prize and a message from one of your favourite Durham players.

Chester and River the Durham mascots will be out and about helping – or causing mayhem – as you make your way around the ground searching for clues.

The entire experience is brought to you thanks to our partnership with genARate. Their platform is the basis for the treasure hunt and is a unique concept for our award-winning family experience package at the Emirates Riverside.

The Treasure Hunt will begin as soon as the gates open, with prizes available until the action gets going on the field. On Evening fixtures, the gates open a 4.30pm with the action starting at 6.30pm, with our only afternoon fixture taking place on Sunday August 11 – gates open at 12.30 with the action starting at 2.30pm
