Travel Arrangements for the Test Match

First Transpennine Express have scheduled more trains to stop at Chester le Street  Station which is just fifteen minutes walk from Riverside.   For further details on routes please visit

National Express have also arranged for additional trains to stop at Durham station for the duration of the match.  For more information visit 

Durham station prior to the start of the match and at close of play.  In addition to the shuttle buses Go North East will be providing transport for spectators who book to use the Park and Ride facility at Lambton Estates, which is a ten minute bus ride from the ground.

Spaces at the Lambton Estate can be pre-booked for just £2 per car and buses will run regularly to and from the park and ride from two hours before the start of play and two hours after the last ball has been bowled.

Durham County Cricket Club Operations Manager, Richard Dowson, said, “We’ve worked with Lambton Estate, Go NorthEast and First Transpennine Express to try and make Riverside as accessible as possible while keeping traffic at the ground to a minimum. 

“We are encouraging spectators to think about their journey to Riverside and plan ahead so that their day goes as smoothly as possible. ”
