The Royal London Gilbert Cup returns on Sunday, 31 July when we take on the Yorkshire Vikings at Emirates Riverside!
Two matches will take place during the lunch interval of our Royal London One-Day Cup clash, with the chance to play at Lord’s on offer for the winners.
The competition, for players in the under-11 category, will feature Sedgefield CC and Shotley Bridge CC facing off in the girls’ category.
The boys’ match will feature Sedgefield CC facing off against Willington CC.
If Durham reach the Lord’s final on 17 September, the winners from each respective game will face off against the other county’s winners in a Grand Final.
The Gilbert Cup is an eight-a-side, soft ball tournament for grassroots players and teams across the 18 First-Class counties.
Each team begins the game with 200 runs and batters bat in pairs, with each pair batting for two overs. Five runs are deducted each time a wicket is lost.
