The Final Countdown Begins

Despite the cold conditions, the lads were fully committed during training and carried out a number of fitness drills and exercises to get them back in action. As well as the conventional indoor batting and bowling practice, the lads have also been enjoying a spot of inter squad rugby, which went from tag rugby to full contact within a matter of minutes, however no injuries were reported!

With only 5 weeks until the first game at the Emirates Durham ICG against Somerset in the LV= County Championship, the lads are getting into the swing of things and looking in good spirit.

Chris Rushworth, Phil Mustard and Dale Benkenstein were amongst the players present who will play a big part in this seasons charge for County Cricket glory. Two players who weren’t present at training this week were Paul Collingwood, who has undergone surgery to repair a ruptured tendon in his right thumb and Graham Onions who is with the England squad in New Zealand. Both players are expected to be available for the start of the season

With the season close approaching and pre-season now in full flow keep an eye on Durhamccc.co.uk for more information over the coming weeks.
