Stokes included for Outlaws clash

Ben Stokes will again line up for the Durham Jets in this season’s Vitality Blast for tomorrow’s fixture against Notts Outlaws at Emirates Riverside (2:30pm start).

Stokes will play as a batsman-only before heading off to join up with England ahead of the upcoming Test series against India.

The all-rounder put in a man of the match performance on home turf against Worcestershire Rapids last week, taking a career-best 4/16 before smashing 43 in an emphatic victory.

He also played in the season opener at Yorkshire Vikings, scoring an unbeaten 90 as the Jets fell to defeat.

But three wins on the spin, including victory over tomorrow’s visitors at Trent Bridge, has put them joint second in the North Group with eight points.

Paul Collingwood also returns to the squad after missing Durham’s previous two fixtures with an achilles niggle.

Ryan Pringle replaces Will Smith in the squad after Smith picked up a calf strain, while Imran Tahir will make the seventh of his nine appearances for the Jets.

Tickets are available in advance until midnight for the match, adults £15 & juniors £5. On-the-day prices are £20 adults & £5 juniors.

The popular Liontrust Family Zone will be open & two bands, George Shovlin & The Radars and The Yada Yada Yads, will be playing after match.

Squad vs Notts Outlaws (28 July)

Last Time Out

The sides met at Trent Bridge last Tuesday & came out with an impressive victory, led by Tom Latham’s outstanding career-best effort.

Latham shone at the top of the order, missing out on a maiden T20 century by scoring 98 not out to underpin Durham’s total of 184/5.

Graham Clark scored 33 in an opening partnership of 50, the third straight game the pair had racked up an opening stand of fifty or more.

On a ground where big scores are the norm, it was perhaps a par score but an outstanding collective effort from the bowlers restricted Notts to 150 all out.

They got off to a flying start but regular wickets reeled them back in, with Paul Collingwood taking 3/25 & Imran Tahir 2/20.
