Somerset v Durham: Match Drawn

Play finally got underway at 2pm on day four at Taunton with Somerset declaring on 400-6 after achieving maximum batting points just before the end of their 100 overs.

Durham picked up two wickets in the session, claiming their second bowling point, when De Bruyn was caught by Scott Borthwick off the bowling of Liam Plunkett for 54 and Craig Kieswetter was out lbw for 75 to Scott Borthwick’s first ball of the day.

Somerset declared after they reached 400, and once it became clear that Durham wouldn’t reach the 200 mark to claim an additional bonus point before the end of the allocated overs the side called the game to a close once Michael Di Venito had scored the runs required for him to pass the 1000 first class run mark.

The match was drawn with Durham picking up 5 points and Somerset 8.
