Seconds travel south in latest friendly

The Second XI make a long trip to Billericay as their friendly schedule continues with a four-day fixture with a combined Kent/Essex side.

Neil Killeen’s side have been short of match practice in recent weeks but made the most of their three days against Scotland ‘A’ during the week.

They demolished the Scots during the first two days and despite losing the subsequent one-day fixture that was hastily arranged, plenty of Killeen’s squad had useful outdoor time following weeks of frustrations.

Four separate fixtures had previously been abandoned with minimal play across them all due to constant downpours in the North East.

But last week’s fixture saw four batsmen register a century while the bowlers shared the load equally.

Killeen has a 12-man squad available for the match including Usman Arshad after he made way for Ben Stokes for the First XI game against Middlesex, while Gavin Main returns in Durham colours after playing for Scotland in the friendly.

Match updates will be available on Twitter and match reports will be available after each day’s play on the website.

Durham squad: Phil Mustard, Graham Clark, Calum MacLeod, Stuart Poynter (wk), Adam Hickey, Paul Coughlin, James Weighell (c), Gurman Randhawa, Jamie Harrison, Barry McCarthy, Gavin Main, Usman Arshad.
