Durham Cricket are thrilled to announce that Katherine Fraser has signed a new contract.
The Scotland all-rounder has penned a two-year deal lasting until at least the end of the 2027 season.
Fraser impressed with both bat and ball during her opening season with Durham combining 15 wickets with over 250 runs across all competitions whilst passing 100 career wickets.
The 20-year-old collected her best bowling figures of the 2025 season with 3/33 against Lancashire in the One Day Cup at Banks Homes Riverside whilst Fraser’s best returns with the bat came with 43 against Surrey at Beckenham.
Opening the batting, Fraser top scored for Scotland in the Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifiers in January helping her nation to qualification racking up 184 runs in seven innings at a strike rate of 138.
The Edinburgh-born cricketer made two appearances for the Northern Superchargers in their victorious campaign in The Hundred in 2025 whilst having surpassed 50 IT20 wickets for Scotland during the inaugural Emerging Nations Trophy in Thailand.
On extending her Durham deal, Fraser said: “It feels really good, being around the group for a year now it’s been really exciting to be a part of so far.
When Marcus [North] offered me a new contract, I was really keen to take that and see what this group can continue to do over the next couple of years.
“I think this group is really special to be a part of. Chester-le-Street has come to feel like home over the last 12 months and the opportunity to develop cricket in the North East is huge.
“We want to push for silverware this season and build on the back of some really impressive performances last year. I know that as an individual and as a group we are capable of so much more.”
Director of Cricket, Marcus North said: “We’re extremely pleased that Katherine has agreed to extend her time with Durham for another two years.
“Her performances for both Durham and Scotland show just how valuable she is to our side with both bat and ball, and she has already made a significant impact since joining the club.
“Despite being only 20, Katherine already brings a wealth of domestic and international experience, and that maturity has been evident in her performances throughout the season.”
