Riverside full of busy as season starts in sunshine

During the lunch interval teams associated with Willington CC’s Chance to Shine programme played on the outfield and the indoor league winners, Willington Primary, were presented with their trophy by Durham bowler Mitchell Claydon.

In the Media and Education Centre Durham Members were able to utilise the computers in the Playing for Success classroom to watch the highlights from last Sunday’s Friends Provident Trophy match and learn how to use internet and email.  This facility will be open to Members on day one of every County Championship match (excluding the game against Hampshire).  So, if you are at the ground please do pop in!

The LV County Championship trophy was also on display to give spectators the opportunity to take photos.  The Trophy will be on display during the intervals of the rest of the week’s play.  The Northern Echo’s Tim Wellock was also on hand to sign copies of his book, Summers with Durham.

The first Members Forum  also took place at the close of play today with Chief Executive David Harker and Durham bowlers Liam Plunkett and Mark Davies taking questions from the floor.
