Rain Dampens Day Three

Only have 18 overs play was seen at the Emirates Durham ICG today as persistent rain and bad light interferred in day three between Durham and Middlesex.

It was 4.15pm by the time the players got out on the field but only for 5 overs with Durham adding 15 runs before light was lost and the rain soon returned with the covers back on the pitch.

After this squall had passed the covers were removed and play started again at 5.15pm with the light a little better and Durham getting the chance to add to their 115 run lead.

Mark Stoneman reached his half century but was removed a ball later for 52, trapped lbw by Harris, although it appeared it may have been going down the leg side.

Young duo Keaton Jennings and Scott Borthwick were then at the crease and added a further 21 runs before bad light halted play, this time for the day at 6.06pm.

At the close of play Durham were 89-1 with a lead of 152 and will no doubt look to add runs quickly tomorrow morning.
