Pringle reports back from Perth

“I’m playing for CBC Cricket Club while I’m in Australia, it’s on concrete wickets so it’s a little different to home. I’ve never been to Perth before but I’m really enjoying it so far. I’ve settled in well, I’m living with the coach from the club and he has made me feel right at home.

“I flew over with Callum Harding and also worked with him the first two weeks as a cricket coach, it was good having someone I knew out here and helped me settle in. I’ve met up with Chris Rushworth while I’ve been here aswell.

“My weekly routine is working Monday to Friday for a graphic designer, I help to build Christmas displays and install them into shopping centres and city centres. I train Tuesdays and Thursdays.

“I’m really pleased with how serious the club take training, they have ambitions of winning the league and are very focused on that. I’ve played 3 games so far and we’ve won two and lost one. My bowling figures from those games are 50-0 from 15 overs, 1-27 off 21 overs, including 8 maidens, and 2-25 off 12 overs.

“My batting scores so far are 38 ran out, 24 caught, and 15 caught behind. I’m a little disappointed with my batting but I’m working hard on my game at training and I hope that the hard work pays off.

“My aims for the winter are to mentally become tougher, I think this will come by valuing my wicket more and spending as much time at the crease as possible. I’m also looking to work on my fitness and come back fitter and stronger than I was at the end of the English season.

“I hope to learn from my time in Australia and take that into the 2011 season, I’ve already played a handful of second eleven games for Durham and haven’t performed as well as I could have, I’m trying to see that as a learning curve and improve on that for this season.”
