Point apiece after Grantham washout

Notts Outlaws vs Durham – Match abandoned

Durham left Grantham with a point after the Royal London One-Day Cup match against Notts Outlaws was abandoned without a ball bowled.

Umpires Neil Bainton and Peter Hartley officially called the contest off at 3.40pm, with one point being awarded to both sides.

A toss was able to take place in which the hosts elected to bowl first, but the rain returned shortly before 11am & did not relent throughout the whole afternoon.

The outcome means both still have work to do to guarantee their place in the knock-out stage & Durham’s Bank Holiday Monday encounter with Yorkshire now has qualification resting on it.

James Franklin’s side currently have the third & final qualification place but Worcestershire are one point behind with a game in hand, which is played against Yorkshire tomorrow. Second placed Lancashire are one point ahead of Durham with one game remaining.
