Mustard Joins Lancashire On Loan

PHIL MUSTARD has joined Lancashire County Cricket Club on an emergency loan for the final two LV= County Championship matches this season after wicketkeeper Alex Davies was ruled out with a knee injury.

The Sunderland-born wicketkeeper batsman will make his debut on Monday when the Red Rose take on Surrey at Emirates Old Trafford.

Mustard, 32, has played in 186 First Class matches for Durham and has hit six centuries since making his debut in 2002.

He has also played 10 ODIs and 2 IT20s for England after making his debut in October 2007 against Sri Lanka.

LCCC Cricket Director and Head Coach Ashley Giles said: “Alex has played tremendously well for us this season and to lose him at this stage is a blow.

“But Phil has a tremendous pedigree and will slot into the squad seamlessly for two crucial games as we hope to finish the season with another trophy.”
