Paul van Meekeren joins St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in Caribbean Premier League

Dutch International seamer Paul van Meekeren will not be available for Durham’s Royal London Cup Semi Final against Surrey on Tuesday due to commitments agreed before joining Durham.

The 28-year-old initially joined Durham for three Vitality Blast games but impressive bowling performances saw him remain with the club throughout the group stages of the Royal London Cup taking 14 wickets and finishing in 4th place as the countries leading wicket taker.

Ahead of joining Durham, van Meekeren had agreed a deal in the Caribbean Premier League to play for St Kitts and Nevis Patriots who play their first game on Thursday 26 August against Barbados Royals.

Unfortunately due to the quarantine process needed, van Meekeren would not be available to play for Durham in tomorrow’s game ahead of flying out to the Caribbean.

The club would like to thank Paul van Meekeren for his spell with the club and wish him the best of luck in the 2021 edition of the Caribbean Premier League.
