Durham Cricket are saddened to announce that former Chair, Clive Leach CBE has passed away aged 91.
Born in Bombay (Mumbai), British India, Leach joined Durham in 1960 representing the county for four years as a player until 1964, having previously played for Warwickshire in the late 1950s.
He returned to Durham in 2004 having been appointed Chairman of the County and took on the role having spent 30 years in television working with ITV Tyne Tees.
Leach carried out the role at Durham for 12 years in which under his leadership Durham achieved promotion in 2005 and enjoyed a record 11-year run in the topflight along with the staging of 2013 Ashes series in Chester le Street.
The Club also enjoyed five trophy wins starting off with the Friends Provident Trophy in 2007.
