Bob Jackson picked up the third cricket-related honour in the list – he collects an MBE for voluntary services to cricket in North East.
Jackson’s award highlights the importance of volunteers in cricket – something the ECB supports through the vCricket programme.
Our second director to pick up an award was Halifax-born Richard Bottomley who receives an OBE for services to accountancy and business in the North-East.
A former senior partner in KPMG’s Newcastle office, Mr Bottomley also played a leading role in the North-East business community as president of the North-East Chamber of Commerce.
