Neil Killeen joins up with the Northern Superchargers coaching team

Durham Cricket are delighted to confirm that Neil Killeen will join the Northern Superchargers Hundred team as part of their coaching team alongside Ben Stokes and Danielle Hazell.

As announced last week, England and Durham star Ben Stokes has signed up for the Northern Superchargers, the Hundred team based at Headingley, the home of Yorkshire County Cricket Club.

Neil Killeen, Durham Cricket Assistant Lead & Bowling High Performance Coach, will join the Hundred side in a coaching position alongside Head Coach Darren Lehmann. Killeen joins the Northern Superchargers having been heavily involved in the Durham coaching set up for a number of years, along with previous coaching experience with England under-19s.

Killeen said: “I am really excited to join the Northern Superchargers coaching team and looking forward to working alongside Darren Lehman and the other coaches.

“It’s an exciting new concept that will give me the opportunity to work with some of the world’s best players.

“I look forward to the challenge that this will bring and can’t wait to get started.”

Former England cricketer and now Durham Cricket Ladies Head Coach, Danielle Hazell has joined the Northern Superchargers as their Head Coach having been involved in female coaching with Yorkshire Diamonds in the Kia Super League.

Hazell said: “Things have happened pretty quickly in my coaching career, but you have to take the bull by the horns and enjoy the opportunities that come your way and make the most of them.

“It’s exciting to be involved in a massive step forward for women’s domestic cricket. This can push the game forward. After spending my career travelling around the world it is great to be back in the north and putting something back into the region and the game.”
