Luke Robinson starred with the ball taking eight wickets as Durham Second XI beat Worcestershire Second XI over two days in a three-day friendly at Bromsgrove School.
Durham dismissed the hosts for just 88 on day one, taking six wickets in the opening session. Archie Bailey led the way with three wickets while Sam Conners claimed a pir of scalps and James Minto picked up one.
Luke Robinson did the damage after lunch with three wickets before Charlie Harmison finished off the Worcestershire innings.
Alan Walker’s side also found it hard work in their innings as 20 wickets fell on day one with the visitors being dismissed for 133 with a lead of 45.
Haydon Mustard top scored for Durham with a quickfire 32 from 28 balls as Toby Cox picked up a five-wicket haul for the hosts.
Worcestershire put 13 on the board as they made it to the end of day one unscathed in their second innings.
Durham made a strong start to day two as Minto struck within two balls before Conners reduced the Pears to 37/2.
Rob Jones made 75 from 69 balls as he and Henry Cullen put on 110 for the third wicket before Minto had him caught in the deep.
Cullen made 42 but was pinned lbw by Conners shortly afterwards as the hosts found themselves 151/4.
Wickets continued to fall quickly as Luke Robinson got in on the act – claiming five of the final six Worcestershire wickets as the hosts were dismissed for 173.
Robinson finished with figures of 5-32 in 11.1 overs, leaving him with eight wickets in the match whilst Conners grabbed three wickets and Minto picked up two as the hosts set Durham a total of 129 to win.
Faizan Ghumman and George Drissell opened for the visitors but the latter fell early on before Colin Ackermann made 35 in a 63-run stand with Ghumman.
This left the Ds 75 for two with a further 54 to win as Ghumman and Luke Symington shared 54 from 74 balls to take Alan Walker’s side over the line by eight wickets.
